Kathmandu/ Embark UnMath Pvt. Ltd. has officially launched its innovative "Entrepreneurial Math" program, a transformative, yearlong initiative aimed at turning conventional mathematics education into practical entrepreneurial training for students from Grades 6 to 12.
Addressing a long-standing gap in Nepal’s academic system, the program integrates key business concepts with mathematical learning, helping students grasp how numbers play a pivotal role in real-world decision-making. From financial planning and investment analysis to market research and data interpretation, students learn through hands-on activities and real entrepreneurial experiences.
“We're not just teaching math – we're showing students how numbers drive business decisions,” said Divesh Bathija, co-founder of Embark UnMath. “The goal is to equip students with practical tools while strengthening their academic foundations.”
Bathija further emphasized the broader mission of the initiative: “This program is a step toward transforming Nepal from an educational departure point into a destination for high-quality, practical learning. We want to retain talented students who can drive economic development in the country.”
Unlike traditional teaching models, Entrepreneurial Math includes six strategically planned school visits throughout the year. Students begin by exploring startup mindsets and market analysis, eventually developing prototypes and full-fledged business plans. The program will culminate in the Start-Up Fest 2025, to be held in December at Embark College, where students will independently manage a live marketplace to showcase their products.
The program has already been adopted by reputed schools such as Sanskriti International School, Euro School Hattigauda, and Alok Vidyashram, all of which have reported promising outcomes in both student engagement and academic performance.
