Kathmandu - Fonepay, Nepal’s leading digital payment network, in partnership with Kumari Bank Limited, has announced the launch of the Kumari Fonepay Credit Card, further advancing the digital credit ecosystem in Nepal. This virtual credit card, issued under the Fonepay Credit Card Scheme, is now available to Kumari Bank customers through the bank’s mobile banking app - Kumari Smart Mobile Banking.
The Kumari Fonepay Credit Card is a fully digital offering that allows users to scan and pay at any Fonepay QR merchant across the country. Combining the core benefits of a traditional credit card - including up to 45 days of interest-free credit and flexible repayment options - with the convenience and security of QR payments, the card eliminates the need for a physical card altogether.
To mark the launch, Kumari Bank is offering an exclusive cashback of 50% (up to Rs. 500) on transactions made using the Kumari Fonepay Credit Card. This limited-time offer encourages customers to explore QR-based credit payments while enjoying savings on daily expenses.
Diwas Kumar, CEO of Fonepay, remarked “With Kumari Bank joining the Fonepay Credit Card network, we are significantly expanding our reach-enabling more users to access virtual credit instantly, securely, and conveniently. This fully virtual credit card is a step forward in making credit inclusive and accessible to every Nepali, not just the privileged. Our vision is to redefine credit for the digital era-where getting a credit card is as simple as scanning to pay.”
With this launch, Kumari Bank joins a growing network of financial institutions adopting Fonepay’s virtual credit solution-signaling a broader shift toward smarter, safer, and more inclusive digital finance in Nepal.
The partnership reflects a shared vision to modernize credit access and provide customers with seamless, secure digital payment experiences. Fonepay Credit Card is now available in Citizen Bank, Everest Bank, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank and Kumari Bank.
